LBP AM continues to expand its teams dedicated to private assets

LBP AM is expanding its teams with the arrival of Karine Gate, Head of Operations – Private Assets, and Julie Kong, Product Structurer – Private Assets.

LBP AM is thus strengthening its operational growth capabilities for its European private assets platform, LBP AM European Private Markets, and its expertise in engineering and structuring unlisted financial products.

“As head of the operations team at LBP AM European Private Markets, Karine will coordinate the growth of our business and the development of unlisted strategies,” said Pierre Bonnet, COO of LBP AM European Private Markets, to whom Karine Gate will report. 

“We are delighted to be welcoming Julie to the private equity structuring team. Her experience will enable us to step up our plans for new products in the unlisted segment for both institutional and retail clients,” said Mathilde Sauvé, Head of Development & Products at LBP AM. Julie Kong will report to Mathilde Sauvé and Pierre Bonnet.

  • Karine Gate has over 30 years’ experience in the financial markets. She has worked at Natixis, successively as Head of Capital Markets Results at IXIS CIB, Head of Finance & Operations at Natixis AI in London, and General Secretary of the Alternative Assets department. From 2014 to 2021, she was COO & Risk Manager at Sienna IM (formerly Acofi Gestion) before joining Mirova in 2021. From 2022, she worked at Tikehau IM as Head of Private Debt Operations. Karine holds a bachelor’s degree in finance, banking and options markets from the International Business Administration School.   
  • Julie Kong has almost 20 years’ experience, including 10 years internationally (in London, Hong Kong and Singapore), in the financial sector, securitisation, asset servicing and asset management activities. She began her career at Axa IM in London as a Product Investment Business Analyst. From 2008 to 2022, she held various positions at BNP Paribas Securities Services, including Performance & Risk Product Specialist and Alternative Fund Services Product Manager for the Asia-Pacific region. She joined BNP Paribas Asset Management in 2022 as senior product manager for unlisted assets. She holds the CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) designation.
