LBP AM has expanded the team of its European private assets platform with the appointment of Michel Courtois as Head of Legal – European Private Assets.
This new hire reflects the strong growth momentum of LBP AM’s European private assets platform. Launched in 2012, this area of expertise covers three main segments – infrastructure debt, real estate debt and corporate debt – and offers investment strategies based on the demanding and systematic integration of ESG criteria.

“Michel’s arrival reinforces our strengths in legal structuring, a key capability that creates value in the financing transactions we deploy,” said Peter Arnold, Head of the LBP AM European private assets platform.
“With his extensive experience in the debt segment alongside international players, Michel has deep knowledge of the various financing models and the challenges faced by each stakeholder,” said Valérie Cluzel, Chief Legal Officer of LBP AM, to whom Michel Courtois will report.
Michel Courtois had been with White & Case since 2017. As Counsel in Debt Finance in Paris, he advised banks and financial institutions, as well as borrowers, on acquisition financing, syndicated loans, and LBO and mezzanine transactions. Previously, Michel worked as an Associate at Linklaters and Orrick.
A member of the Paris Bar since 2014, Michel holds a master’s degree in business law from Paris Cité University and an LLM in business law from Paris 2-Panthéon-Assas University – INSEAD.
